Why and How to "Energy Investment Cooperatives"?

Our Story ...

We want to build cooperative infrastructure for local  and global investment in energy. An energy investment cooperative (EIC) allows individuals and SMEs to pool their money and "energy" to invest in energy for the benefit of their various communities for the long haul.

At this initial briefing, we will talk about the EIC model, share examples of how cooperative financing has worked in other places, hear from groups that need investors to help them retain community space, and talk about how we might implement this model in our own neighbourhoods in smaller groups.

What is a EIC?...

The idea is that people and SMEs pool money in cooperative investment group(s) and these investment groups take over energy (power generation - preferably renewable energy) project rights, licenses and have them constructed, as well as already operation energy projects.

We hope that this kind of participation in co-creating our investment groups that reflect and amplify the multitude of our interests.

We have the political and fiscal power to civilized life we care about and to expand the opportunities for creating institutions that will shape the cities we want to live in and utilize the power grid we operate and earn from.

Let's harness it together!
